A memory game you dig rather than flip. The board is a little wooden vegetable garden with felt soil, and the vegetables are planted in it, tops showing. Pull up two the same and they are yours. Pull up a rabbit and he has been at your harvest, so everything goes back in the ground.
There are two ways to play: the classic memory game first, then the recipe version, where each player draws a soup card and has to harvest exactly the vegetables on it. Rounds take ten to fifteen minutes, which is about right for three-year-olds and their patience.
Remembering where the carrot went is the point, but the pulling, planting and sorting are good for small hands too, and there is a surprising amount of vegetable vocabulary in a game of soup.

Ideal For: A memory game for a child from 3 years who likes a bit of mischief, with hungry rabbits hidden among the vegetables.
