Toddler Talk is a series of board books to help toddlers develop from first words to first phrases by introducing simple word combinations and first experiences.
In My Potty! we follow four toddlers and their families as they start their potty training journey. Go to the shop to buy a potty ("let's go shopping!"), practice and try it out ("sit down", "stand up!") then learn what to do after ("time to wipe", "pull up pants", "wash hands"). This book also offers reassurance with accidents, shows toddlers that trying to go without results is still good practice and then celebrates successful potty trips together!
With text written in consultation with Priya Desai, a children's speech and language therapist, Toddler Talk features familiar scenes of everyday life with lots of busy toddlers to look at (including a mirror on the final page so they can see themselves).
Includes a FREE Nosy Crow Stories Aloud® audiobook! Scan the code, hear the story.
Read along with your toddler to build the next step in their language development - putting single words together to create everyday phrases.

Reading age: 2 years or older

Ideal For: Good for toddlers aged 2+ who are starting potty training and are ready to move from single words to short everyday phrases.

About the Creators: Carolina Búzio (Illustrator) Carolina Búzio is an illustrator and occasional animator drawn to quirky characters and exciting colour combinations. She was born in the lovely seaside town of Porto, Portugal, and is currently living in artsy Berlin, Germany, with her partner (who is unfortunately allergic to cats or else she'd finally be the crazy cat lady her child-self always assumed she would one day be). With a great memory for faces (but terrible for names, she apologises in advance) and objects with a personality, it makes sense that she illustrates children's books for a living. The toughest but also her favourite part of the illustration process is the colouring stage: whenever she puts two odd colours together that go unexpectedly well, she gets butterflies in her stomach.
