THE ALTHEABIO STORY

“Altheabio from La Comba Aromatica is based in the Diois in the pristine Drôme Valley, located in the high-altitude part of the Rhône-Alpes region, France. The name ‘La Comba Aromatica’ was given to the farm, locally known as ‘La Combe’, over 15 years ago, where aromatic and medicinal herbs are cultivated. We grow, harvest, distil and bottle right here in the Drôme valley! In addition, organic essential oils from herbs that we do not cultivate come from trusted independent farmers in France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Africa and Nepal.”

ALTHEABIO 100% ECOCERT (FR-BIO-01) CERTIFIED ORGANIC ESSENTIAL OILS

ECOCERT is the leading certifier of organic cosmetics, food products and textiles in France, founded in 1991.

WHY CERTIFIED ORGANIC ESSENTIAL OILS?

Organically grown plants produce highly potent essential oils, which the plants immune system uses to ward off pests, bacteria and viruses. However, if plants are sprayed with pesticides and herbicides, they may not produce the same potent essential oils as those chemicals are doing the job for them. This may result in weaker plants and produces essential oils  that lacks the potent properties when compared to organically grown plants. Furthermore, no toxic chemicals contaminate the plant, its essential oil, growers, land and local environment.
