How will Jade dress today? Queen, swimmer, tourist, student, lioness? Six outfits, each in three wooden pieces, head, body and legs, stack in the box to dress her, and swap between outfits for a crown on a swimmer's body with a lioness's paws below.
Toddlers begin by matching the right head, body and legs, then find out that mixing is the better game. The wooden box keeps all 18 pieces together and doubles as the stage.
Stacking the pieces in order is quiet practice for hand and eye, and every new Jade is a new story, which is where the talking starts. Ingela P. Arrhenius's illustrations give her plenty of character.
